We have another word!! On & off in the past Olivia has repeated her version of banana. But now she has been saying it non-stop for about 48 hours. Everything is "na-nana." The connection isn't necessarily there, but its a word! All day long "na-nana. na-nana. na-nana!"
"Nigh-nigh" has made a comeback this week for her too. However the connection between the "nigh-nigh-nigh" babbling & being tired has been lost I think? I'm not completely sure but she may be refering to her lovie-blanket as "nigh-nigh?" Or maybe she knows what it means & just enjoys the practice of saying it all day long so it seems as if she doesn't have the connection? We'll have to wait & see.
The 2 "words" often sound somewhat alike & unless I am really listening to what she is saying, sometimes I'm not real sure which is coming out.
All in all that makes a handful of "words" for her?
Mama
Dada
(sometimes to the right parent, sometimes not)
Nigh-nigh
Na-nana
Ha (hi or hello on cell phone)
Dat? (that?)
Logan has "mama" & "dada" & his version of that usually is just "da?" Hayden has those plus a more defined "dat?" He, on a random occasion, has repeated "nigh-nigh" so hopefully that progresses. And he still "gog"s & "ummm"s sometimes when he drives trucks. They all wave bye-bye, but Logan REALLY knows what it means. Even if Jeff or I go downstairs to do laundry, he stands by the gate & waves bye-bye :)
