I think operation "Paci go Bye-Bye" is officially complete.
Last Thursday, on a complete whim, I took Livis pacifier away. Two other people I know were ditching pacis that same week, & we'd been tossing around the idea, so I figured I'd at least give it a trial run. I swiped it for nap time Thursday afternoon, honestly thinking it would instantly be nightmare-ish & I'd chicken out. But honestly those first 2 days were a BREEZE!!
And no sooner than I made the comment "this has not been nearly as bad as I imagined it would be"..... you guessed it. The bad begun. I've heard with anything, cry-it-out versions of learning to STTN & taking away pacifiers, that is a whole week process. With a peak somewhere around day 3. Well she peaked for sure.
As I grabbed my bags & bid my family adu.... for a 3 day stretch of work....I left the ball in dear ole daddy's court. Gave them all a kiss & wished him luck! And I have to say, I am more than impressed. I imagined he'd cave. But he didn't! He gets complete & total credit for this one!!
Score: Daddy 1, Livi 0!
I actually think she sleeps better without it. Still a little whining to fall asleep. But before I used to hear her a time or 2 at night, looking around for her paci. Now I don't hear her up at night anymore.
Next step to growing up.... "bye-bye bedtime bottles." Maybe first a break for a week to regroup? Jeff- you want to take lead on this one too??
We're so proud of you Livi. Sleeping like a BIG GIRL!
I'm glad to hear it went well. I'm still debating on when I should do it! I think Braden would do fine without it too and I'd rather do it sooner than later. Decisions, decisions!
