Saturday March 12, their 16 month "birthday." We decided to try again this week. We were able to stay clear of the ER & the boys had their first haircuts!
I worked Friday night, so after I got up we had a late lunch, we got ready & headed off for cuts. Did a little shopping after & then went out for an early dinner to celebrate. I LOVE that we are able to do that these days. Not sayin' its a nice, relaxing meal out. And not sayin' we don't leave quite a mess behind. But is so nice to be able to go out as a family. We munched on grease at Buffalo Wild Wings. They LOVED some fried pickles, french fries, chicken strips & mini corn dogs.
I was sad to see the curls go, infact this was WAY harder for me than 1st birthdays. But it was time. Their mops were getting unmanagable & I didn't want them to grow up to hate me for the way their hair looked in all their pictures. The kiddie place we went to did a great job. We were in, cut, paid & out the door in less than 30 minutes. They had DVDs, bubbles, suckers, & cars as seats. The gals did a great job cutting hair on a moving target. I'm actually pretty impressed at how straight it all turned out. Not going to lie, there were quite a few tears shed by both boys. But they cut really, really fast & for that reason it was WAY less traumatic (for me) than I expected. Though I'm not sure the boys would agree & the pictures will probably make you believe otherwise.
I'm still a little "sad" even though I think its silly. But I'm glad we did it. It will be so nice not to have all that frizzy mess & MUCH cooler for spring & summer! They both, of course, still look adorable. And all grown up! I really like Logan's. I like Hayden's too, but I think next time I might leave his a little longer because of his big noggin, his hairline & the fact that his hair is still a little thinner on top. Don't get me wrong, its cute... I'm just one to always think about next time. Or maybe thats just my way of "grieving" his curls.
