"Vacation"

This week I took a week of vacation from work & its Jeffs spring break.... so this is our productivity week for the year.  Yeah quite possibly for the whole year.  Thats our life.  Ha!

Main project, basement.  Tore out the space hogging, crappy bar.  Tore out the nasty carpet.  Tore down the paneling & the crappy drywall.  Built a wall.  New drywall.  Now tomorrow will be coat #3 of mudding.  Thursday sanding & texture.  Friday paint.  Then all we need is carpet & baseboards & it will be a WHOLE new basement.  So excited!  Any recommendations on a great place to get great carpet & installation cheap??!!  We have been putting this off for literally the 5.5 years we have lived here.  So long overdue!  And it feels so good (though I have done like none of the work so it feels especially good to me)  We are SO in need of the functional space!

Jeff's parents came up this past weekend & helped.  Thank you, thank you!!  And for now its basically Jeff working & me watching kids & burning through my lists of mommy-to-dos in my time off.  (which is fine because I don't think I would be any help with mudding!)  I think I have washed, folded & put away 12 loads of laundry.  Completely re-organized the kids' room.  Pulled out the new clothes I got the kids on sale for spring & got it washed & ready to go.  Boxed up TONS of stuff that needs to go to the consignment store.  (Which in addition to a few other baby items I am hopefully selling should finance our little basement project!!)  Ordered Liv some new glasses.  Ran a few errands.  Found a few scores on CL to be picked up later this week.

The kids "helped" me re-organize & clean their room!!

Jeff also got the railing finished on the deck today!  Now we just need some stain & a baby gate and that project that we started like 2 years ago before I was pregnant will finally be finished.  When I say having triplets has made me be YEARS behind, I'm not joking.  I'm lucky most days I know what day of the week it is (& sometimes I don't!)

See how productive we can be if we have the time off!!  Funny thing though is with everything you check off the list, you think of something else!  And as Jeff will not have class for the month of May, his May-to-do-list is growing by the second.

We have also found some time to enjoy ourselves & get outside in the beautiful weather (despite our snot).  And I have discovered that playing outside & trips to the park = LONG naps, which makes me even more excited for spring & summer to really be here!!

Playing at the park...

I promise she was not scared... they went down later "by themselves" a dozen times.

Hayden went down the HUGE slide with his daddy

Liv & Logan just played at the bottom because dad didn't want to go again

Don't let this fool you.... they ran all over every square inch of the yard.  No fear.  Zero!

I wish every week was "vacation!!"
